Article marketing is about getting more visitors to your website or blog. When your articles are ranked on the first page of Google you get more website visitors.

I wrote an article about hearing God, submitted it to Ezine Articles and it appeared on the first page of search results within two days. I was getting more traffic than normal and I wanted to know why, so I typed the title of my article into the Google search box and there my article was in 5th place of seach results. I’ve had lots of search engine success since then and many of my website pages are on the first page of results, some have a number one search engine ranking.

I use a simple formula to generate free search engine traffic to my websites and blogs all the time. You can get your articles on the first page of Google and get more visitors to your website within days if you follow these article marketing steps.

Focus On Submitting Your Articles To The Main Article Directories.

I’ve found that my articles get indexed more quickly when I submit them to Ezine Articles. You can submit your articles to other directories too so that you get even more people reading them, but I recommend that you submit your articles to Ezine Articles first, it’s the biggest and the best.

Do Keyword Research Before You Write Your Articles 

Before you write your articles, use keyword research tools to search for phrases the people actually use to search for information around your niche. You’re looking for the exact terms that people are searching for - the phrases you find become your article titles. If 68 people a day search for “how to train a puppy,” make that your article title.

• Use the exact keyword phrase
• Put the keyword at the beginning of the title and weave in a variation of the phrase again - longer titles work best

For example - How to Train A Puppy - Toilet Train Your Puppy Properly

Also, use the exact phrase in the keyword box, at the beginning of your article, in the article body and again at the end of the article.

If you want to see you articles on the first page of Google search results, I recommend that you do keyword research first and create a master keyword list. Keep this list of keywords in front of you when you write your articles and make sure you put the keywords in all the right places.

Write an Interesting Informative Article

Give people great content focused around your chosen keyword phrase. Give your readers useful information that they can apply immediately and don’t be afraid of giving away too much. Your article is an opportunity to demonstrate that you know what your talking about and have the solution to their problem.

Create an Effective Article Resource Box

Your article resource box is very important. It shouldn’t be about you. Your reader is interested in what’s in it for them. Ezine Articles allow two “self-serving” links in your article resource box. Include a call to action and give your reader a good reason to click though to your website. If they like your article and they know you have something they want on your site, they’ll click through.
