How To Promote A New Website Using Articles - A Step by step guide
How do you get vistors to your new website?
When I start a new website or blog, the first thing I do to announce it to the world and start driving traffic, is write articles and post them on article directories.
I make sure the articles are fully optimised for the search engines because I want my articles to bring me as much search engine traffic as possible. Search engine optimization is a free traffic source that you can rely on to bring you traffic for years.

Get quality links to your site
Researching keywords and making sure you put them in all the right places is on page optimization, you need to do off page optimization too. Off page optimization involves getting quality links to your webpages.
If you haven’t already got an account at Digg, open one today.
- Bookmark 1 page of your website or one article from your blogg at Digg. It’s better if you can get a friend to do this for you, but if that’s not possible, go ahead and bookmark just one page or article. This is the first thing you should do once your website is ready. This will get your website indexed by Google, in less than 3 days.
- Don’t be tempted to bookmark more than 1 page. Technically speaking, you shouldn’t bookmark your own website, that’s why I suggested you get a friend to do it for you.
- Write at least 5 articles and post them to as to many article directories as possible. Some directories insist that you submit your articles personally, for example, EzineArticles, ArticleDashboard and GoArticles.
Ezine articles has a Google Page rank of 6. When you have an article accepted there, they display your article on the main page for 24 hours. This is another way of getting Google to index your new site quickly.
Take out a membership at Article Marketer and submit all your articles there. They will submit your articles to multiple directories and you will have hundreds of links pointing to your site.
The more articles you write and submit, the more traffic you will get. So if you want to get your website found, go and write some articles.
Find relevant blogs and forums and leave comments there with a link back to your site. Do make sure you add value to the article. Don’t just say, “nice site” or “great article”, or the owner is likely to mark your comment as spam.
If you follow these steps you will soon have a steadily increasing stream of visitors to your new website.
