Write about what people want to know! If you want people to read your articles you need to give them what they’re looking for, not what you think they want to read!
Rule number One
If you want to get attention with your articles you must write articles on topics that people want to read. I know I’ve said that twice, that’s because it’s very important. I hate to think of you wasting time and effort.
How can you discover what people want to know?
Find forums in your niche and listen in to the conversations.
What questions are people asking. What problems do they need a solution to? Could you provide an answer in the form of an article?
Do keyword research
Before you start writing, find out how many people are interested in the topic. You can check to see how many people are searching for information by using a keyword research tool.

Type in the topic you’re thinking of writing on and see how many people are actually searching for that information.
You could try putting in How to and see what people want to know. Could you write an article showing people how to do something? The key to success is to make sure that it’s something people are asking questions about.
Daily searches for
- how to clean a penny 2680
- how to save a life 2293
- how to tie a tie 1431
- how to make meatloaf 984
You’ll be surprised at what people want to know, and if you write about what people want to know, they will find and read your articles.
If you do keyword research and find there are few searches for your chosen topic, choose something else to write about. There isn’t much point writing your article if no one is searching, because that particular article won’t bring people to your site.
One of the secrets of making sure that people read your articles is to write about what they want to know. Do keyword research before you write a word of your article.
