If you are busy writing articles I recommend that you put your articles on your own blog and make them work to bring you income.
Tips for monetizing your blog
First of all, you need to know that it’s okay to make money from your blog. If you’re giving away good information and making honest recommendations it seems reasonable to make some money from helping people out if there is money to be made. Though I don’t recommend sticking adsense everywhere and filling your blog with banners and ads. Nobody likes to feel sold to.
So, how do you go about making money from your blog?
It depends on what kind of blog you have. If it is a personal blog with posts on just about anything under sun, the monetization process may take a little more effort than if you have a niche blog that concentrates on one area. But if your blog becomes popular you could talk about anything and make some money from it.
Now, if you’re not Steve Pavalina or Paris Hilton, here are some tips on how monetize your blog:
Provide lots of great content first
If your blog is just diary of what you did last week or if it’s a bunch of thoughts but haven’t got any substance, you’re not going to make money from your blog. You will only succeed at making money from your blog if you provide helpful information and blog regularly.
When you first start your blog I recommend posting to it every day. Yes really! Once you have at least 30 posts you could take that down to every other day. And do make sure that some of your posts, say one a week, are meaty articles – you’re not going to make money with a long string of short comments as a foundation.
Once you have at least 30 posts, start promoting your blog
It’s better to wait until you have a batch of great articles before you invite people to your blog. You want them to see that it’s a great resource and come back. Give them a good reason to subscribe to your blog feed. You did subscribe to mine didn’t you? That way you won’t miss any of the great content. :)
Write articles with a link to your blog in your resource box and submit them to article directories
Leave relevant comments on other people’s blogs, or in forums, with a link to your blog in your signature file.
Submit your blog to blog carnivals
Whatever you do, don’t spam blogs or forums. It will backfire on you. Make sure you leave relevant comments that add to the post. Spam comments will only annoy other bloggers and you may even end up on their banned list.
Add in money-making products
You can sell your own products through your blog or help other people to sell their products through referral or affiliate programs. Adding Google Adsense and other pay per click platforms to your blog can help you to make money if you do it right. I highly recommend Adsense Secrets. This book usually sells for $97 but it’s available now for less than $10 and it’s over 200 pages of excellent, practical information that will help you to make money if you put it into action. If your blog is well established and already gets a lot of visits, consider selling Text Link Ads
