I think many of us have used this template without even realizing it. But please do not fall into the TRAP of: complacency in your article writing. 3.) Solves their problems

How To Write An Article In 20 Minutes By Jim Estill

It takes me only 20 minutes to write a 400-500 word article or blog post. This article (that I wrote in 20 minutes) explains some of the tricks I use to accomplish this. I started thinking seriously about this when I started blogging. Blogging gave me a deadline (almost every day) and I did not want to spend more than 20 minutes each day on blogging. Many of my blog entries are actually less than 500 words so take me less time.

1.  I start with a list of ideas and concepts I want to cover. Usually I write this list in point form. For me, I do this the old fashioned way, with a pen and paper.
2.  I often “incubate” an article for a few days (that does not count in the 20 minutes). What I do is start roughing out some topic ideas then leave it. Because I have thought about it, ideas tend to come to me that I frequently add to my points. Of course I always carry a notebook for ideas.
3.  I often need to reduce the number of ideas that I cover. Sometimes they do not fit with the angle of the article or do not flow with the other ideas. Sometimes I have to give up a point to write a good article.
4.  Never save a good idea. When I know I have many article deadlines to meet(EG blogging), it is tempting to “save” a few good ideas for later. New ideas will always come so always give your best ideas.
5.  Develop tricks to get past writers block. One way I do this is ”warm up” writing. I just sit down and write for 5 minutes. This tends to help subsequent writing to flow. Another way I do this is to go for a walk, cycle or a run (although sometimes I think I might use this to procrastinate a bit too). Another trick I use is to make a game out of the deadline – say I will do it by X. Perhaps I am simple but this motivates me.
6.  Come back to it later. My best articles are written partly, revisited a few times, then finished. I spend the same 20 minutes, though only 5-7 minutes per session. Of course if the ideas are flowing well, I do keep writing.
7.  I often write 3-4 articles at the same time. Spending 5 minutes on one, 7 on another etc. When I am really in writing flow, this works well.
8.  One trick is using bullet points or numbered points as in this article. People seem to like this technique and it helps articles flow for me.
9. So if I can write so quickly, why don’t I write a few articles each day? Apart from the fact that I have a very full time job, writing is the easy part; coming up with the ideas is the tough part.

Products to avoid

I suggest you keep clear of products aimed at the internet marketing fraternity. If you act as an affiliate for these products you’ll find it hard to succeed because you will be head to head with the big boys who can offer big bonuses to persuade people to buy through their link.

I know someone who is offering to rebate 90% of her affiliate commission so that people will buy through her link. She will be rebating $900 and keeping $100. Can you afford to do that?

Clickbank Products 

If you are planning to sell clickbank products, select a product that has a high Gravity and a high %/sale. I recommend choosing products that have a gravity of at least 70 and pay at least 50%. It isn’t worth your time and effort to promote something that only pays you $10, unless that’s recurring monthly income. If the product doesn’t pay well, unless you happen to think very highly of it and simply want to benefit your readers, stay clear.

Non Clickbank Products

I look for

• products that have affiliate resources that make it easier to promote
• someone who actually answers their emails or has  a responsive help desk
• people who pay me without me having to chase them

If your site has little or no original content you will find yourself in trouble with Google.

Here is what Google has to say about little or no original content:

One of the most important steps in improving your site’s ranking in Google search results is to ensure that it contains plenty of rich information that includes relevant keywords, used appropriately, that indicate the subject matter of your content.

However, some webmasters attempt to improve their page’s ranking and attract visitors by creating pages with many words but little or no authentic content. Google will take action against domains that try to rank more highly by just showing scraped or other auto-generated pages that don’t add any value to users. Examples include:

Thin affiliate sites: These sites collect pay-per-click (PPC) revenue by sending visitors to the sites of affiliate programs, while providing little or no value-added content or service to the user. These sites usually have no original content and may be cookie-cutter sites or templates with no unique content.

Doorway pages: Pages created just for search engines

Auto-generated content:Content generated programatically. Often this will consist of random paragraphs of text that make no sense to the reader but that may contain search keywords.

Scraped content: Some webmasters make use of content taken from other, more reputable sites on the assumption that increasing the volume of web pages with random, irrelevant content is a good long-term strategy. Purely scraped content, even from high-quality sources, may not provide any added value to your users without additional useful services or content provided by your site.

It’s worthwhile to take the time to create original content that sets your site apart. This will keep your visitors coming back and will provide useful search results.

There is no problem in being an affiliate as long as you create some added value for your users and produce valuable content that gives a user a reason to visit your site. For example, you could create product reviews, ratings, and product comparisons.

If you give in to the temptation to simply re-use other people’s content rather than create unique articles, you will be in trouble with Google and your site could suddenly disappear from search engine rankings.

It’s probably a combination of factors, but the fact that my article is listed in the most viewed in 90 days certainly helps!
